This Montessori toy is especially good for refining your baby's fine motor skills as they will need to use their thumb and forefinger to pull the cylinder out, that is, they will practice the pincer grasp which is essential in learning to eat and write. The cylinders also provide an opportunity to practice the palmar grasp.

When putting the cylinder back in the block, your child will improve his/her concentration and hand-eye coordination.

It's good to present this toy when your baby is able to sit without assistance so they can concentrate on their hand movements.
